Hope Productions by R. Balki and Gauri Shinde uses Pranab Kapadia – Deadline


EXCLUSIVE: Mumbai-based filmmakers Gauri Shinde and R. Balki, the co-founders of Hope Productions, have hired UK-based distribution director Pranab Kapadia to co-produce two of their upcoming feature films.

Founded in 2011 after the success of Cheeni Kum and Paa, the Shinde and Balki banner, Hope Productions, launched with the hit photo English French, which marked the return of the famous actress Sridevi. The company’s credits since have included award winners and box office hits such as Padman, Ki & Ka, Dear Zindagi, and Mangal mission.

Kapadia has been a film veteran for over 20 years. He started at Zee before heading the UK subsidiary of Adlabs, owned by Reliance, then joining Eros International as President Distribution – International. In 2020, he founded Moviegoers Entertainment, a UK-based company specializing in the overseas distribution and monetization of content across multiple platforms.

The pact will cover two debut feature films, one of which will be shot in the UK, with more details on upcoming projects. The idea is that the arrangement is continuous.
